Marissa Allen

My name is Marissa Allen and I am the wife of current Houston Texans Offensive Lineman, Jeff Allen. We have a beautiful daughter named Joy Elise. This is our fourth season in the NFL. I attended the University of Illinois on a soccer scholarship where I obtained a degree in Marketing. Upon graduation, I moved to Kansas City to support my husband and started a blog about our lives and my daily musings. It blossomed into a food blog where I publish football foods, quick dinner ideas, and a few desserts. I also have a passion for photography and have intentions of starting a business in the near future. I love how a picture can immortalize a moment that might have otherwise been forgotten. We are so fortunate to be in our current position and I just love how my camera can help document all of these once in a lifetime experiences.

AnJelica Ruiz

My name is Anjelica Ruiz. I was born and raised in a small military town in southern Georgia. In 2011, I graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. Prior to graduating college, I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. During that time, I dedicated much of my time to studying God’s Word and transforming my behaviors and habits to become an emotionally and physically healthy young woman.

I am engaged to Super Bowl Champion (Seattle Seahawks) James Carpenter, who currently plays Left Guard for the NY Jets. We met two years ago & ever since, we have been working together on creating our happily-ever-after.  He is my best friend, he’s also from Georgia, and also a Christian. Together we enjoy watching TV shows, taking trips to the city, trying new restaurants and spending time with our families. We aspire to purchase our dream home and raise our family in Duluth, Ga.

As a Personal Trainer & Group Fitness Instructor, my mission is to create a welcoming atmosphere for people of all walks of life. I aim to establish healthy relationships with gym members and clients where they can feel comfortable expressing their goals, fears and weaknesses, as well as sharing their triumphs and successes. I aspire to help people intertwine Faith and Fitness in their journey to a healthy lifestyle.

I believe that at the end of my life, I will be more satisfied with the lives I’ve touched and the people I’ve helped along the way than the things I have acquired. Through Christ, I was transformed and through Christ I am able to help others overcome their fears, redirect their lives and achieve goals that would otherwise seem impossible.  I consider my position of service a blessing and I look forward to being a dedicated contributor to the WAGS site.

Sara Hood

Sara Hood is a Jacksonville based professional Makeup Artist. She is married to Ziggy Hood, a 7 year NFL vet, and is a mother of two young boys. Four years ago, Sara decided after many terrible experiences at makeup counters that she would teach herself the art of makeup. This was a difficult feat for a woman who hails herself as the least artistic woman on the planet. With tons of practice on herself and brave friends, she realized she had a knack for this very addicting art. She has been a professional makeup artist for the last two years. Watching the transformation, expression, and confidence a woman feels when she sees herself in makeup is the reason Sara loves her job. She doesn’t believe in using makeup to change or hide oneself, but rather to enhance and embrace flaws and all the beauty a woman possesses.

Natalie Hills

I was grateful to be asked to write for such a welcoming and supportive community of like-minded women. I’m excited to be able to share my professional expertise (self-proclaimed Social Media Guru) as well as all things lifestyle in my travels back and forth from Orange County, CA and Charlotte, NC (Insta: @OCtoQC #OCtoQC).

I am a 4th generation Laguna Beach native and I attended Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC, where I received my B.A. in Art History. I founded my own social media company in Charlotte, NC in 2009 and worked with clients ranging from Lauren Conrad’s Paper Crown collection and ESPN Radio to local restaurants and boutiques.  In 2011 I had the opportunity to join the LA team of a New York based Fashion-Finance firm. I took a risk, moved to LA and worked my way up to an Assistant Vice President.  I learned a tremendous amount working with hundreds of thetop brands in the fashion industry ranging from start-ups to companies with over $100 million in revenue. I became the youngest female member of the Board of Directors of the CFCC (Commercial Finance Conference of California), Executive Board Member of The Professional Club (the oldest networking group in Los Angeles), and Council Member of the Fashion & Retail group for City of Hope.

Five years later and burned out from corporate finance, despite the success I was having in my professional life, I did not feel fulfilled with what I was doing. This is when I knew I needed a change, regardless of how difficult it might be leaving an industry I was once so passionate about and that was comfortable.  I took some time, prayed, and handed it over to God.  I have since re-launched my social media company, Status Social Relations, with a strong sense of purpose and commitment to helping grow brands and businesses that I truly believe in.  I am happy to be a resource to anyone with questions regarding social media and how to use it most effectively wether it be personally or professionally.

In my free time you will find me with my family, friends, boyfriend (Jonathan Stewart, @Panthers #GodFirst #keeppounding), cooking + scouring the food scene of any city that I’m traveling to (and Instagraming it for #BratalieBites), hiking/playing tennis/anything outdoors (so I can continue to scour aforementioned food scene), listening to good music, at a beach, reading, and continuing to grow stronger in my faith each and every day.

Yesenia Butler

I am a wife and mother with a passion for sharing my faith, the real-life stories behind raising my little ones and what this NFL life means for my family.  With me, I hope what you see is a journey unraveled to show God's provision and grace, tied into the controlled chaos that is football.  Which leads me to my Husband, Trey Burton! We were married on 12/12/12 in our junior year of College at the University of Florida. Currently, Trey is a Tight End for the Philadelphia Eagles but when the helmet is hung we reside in sunny south Florida.  I’m new to writing; I started as a way to share my testimony with friends and family when I launched toddlersandtouchdowns.com which led me to the amazing opportunity to join the team here at WAGS Redefined!
